Amends the School Code. Provides that, subject to appropriation, the State Board of Education shall develop, implement, and administer a program to award grants to school districts for the purpose of collaborating with community mental health providers to provide mental health services to the students of a school district. Requires the State Board to adopt any rules necessary to implement the provision.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
5 | | 2-3.142a as follows: |
6 | | (105 ILCS 5/2-3.142a new) |
7 | | Sec. 2-3.142a. Mental health services grants. Subject to |
8 | | appropriation, the State Board of Education shall develop, |
9 | | implement, and administer a program to award grants to school |
10 | | districts for the purpose of collaborating with community |
11 | | mental health providers to provide mental health services to |
12 | | the students of a school district. The State Board shall adopt |
13 | | any rules necessary to implement this Section.
