| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 93 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/93 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 93. G.I. Bill of Rights Day. The 4th day of November |
| 8 | | of each year is designated as G.I. Bill of Rights Day, to be |
| 9 | | observed throughout the State as a day in recognition of the |
| 10 | | landmark legislation that provided benefits to World War II |
| 11 | | veterans, and would serve as the basis of future legislation to |
| 12 | | extend benefits to all who serve in the United States Armed |
| 13 | | Forces.
