Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that in no case shall the resource limit standards of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program exceed the standards specified in a provision of the United States Code, unless expressly required by federal law. Provides that in no case shall categorical eligibility exempting households from these resource limits be granted for any non-cash, in-kind or other benefit, unless expressly required by federal law.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 12-4.51 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (305 ILCS 5/12-4.51 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 12-4.51. SNAP; federal asset limits. In no case shall |
| 8 | | the resource limit standards of the Supplemental Nutrition |
| 9 | | Assistance Program exceed the standards specified in 7 U.S.C. |
| 10 | | 2014(g)(1), unless expressly required by federal law. In no |
| 11 | | case shall categorical eligibility exempting households from |
| 12 | | these resource limits be granted for any non-cash, in-kind or |
| 13 | | other benefit, unless expressly required by federal law.
