1 | | (b) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the |
2 | | Director of Central Management Services, working in |
3 | | consultation with the Director of any affected State agency, |
4 | | shall direct all new State employment positions which may be |
5 | | created under the Personnel Code, and which are not required by |
6 | | their nature or function to be located in a specific geographic |
7 | | area, to be located in Sangamon County. |
8 | | (c) The Director shall determine a geographic location for |
9 | | each State employment position and, if it is other than |
10 | | Sangamon County, the reason for it to be in that geographic |
11 | | location. In determining whether to locate or relocate a State |
12 | | employment position to Sangamon County, the Director shall |
13 | | consult the Director of any affected State agency as to whether |
14 | | the nature or function of a position requires it to be located |
15 | | in a specific geographic area of the State. If no such |
16 | | geographic necessity exists, that position shall be located or |
17 | | relocated to Sangamon County. |
18 | | (d) The rights of employees and the State and its agencies |
19 | | under the Personnel Code and applicable collective bargaining |
20 | | agreements with respect to the relocation of current State |
21 | | employee position holders shall not be affected by the |
22 | | provisions of this Section. The provisions of this Section |
23 | | regarding location or relocation of a position to Sangamon |
24 | | County shall apply only to State employment positions that |
25 | | become vacant or are created on or after the effective date of |
26 | | this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly. |
