2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4208 as follows:

3 | on page 5, by replacing line 25 with the following: | ||||||
4 | " healthy learning environments by reducing the reliance on | ||||||
5 | exclusionary discipline and referrals to law "; and | ||||||
6 | on page 6, line 7, after " to, ", by inserting " (i) "; and | ||||||
7 | on page 6, line 8, before " social ", by inserting " school "; and | ||||||
8 | on page 6, by replacing lines 9 through 11 with the following: | ||||||
9 | " health specialists; (ii) otherwise expanding the availability | ||||||
10 | of alternatives to exclusionary discipline and referrals to law | ||||||
11 | enforcement, mental and behavioral health supports, wraparound | ||||||
12 | services, and drug and alcohol treatment; and (iii) providing | ||||||
13 | training for school staff on alternatives to exclusionary | ||||||
14 | discipline and law enforcement involvement for "; and |

2 | " annually. The criteria to be considered by the State Board of | ||||||
3 | Education in awarding the funds shall be (i) the rates of | ||||||

5 | preceding 3 years and (ii) the degree to which the proposal | ||||||
6 | articulates a strong, comprehensive approach for reducing the | ||||||

10 | shall be given to school districts that meet the metrics under | ||||||
