Amends the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act. Defines "online real estate database provider". Provides that if an online real estate database provider includes, in its information concerning residential real property located in the State of Illinois, certain information on the quality of schools in which the residential real property is located, the online real estate database provider must use the most recent information available prepared by the State Board of Education. Provides that a violation of those provisions is an unlawful practice within the meaning of the Act.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business |
5 | | Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2TTT as follows: |
6 | | (815 ILCS 505/2TTT new) |
7 | | Sec. 2TTT. School data; online real estate databases. |
8 | | (a) As used in this Section, "online real estate database |
9 | | provider" means a person that is engaged in the collection and |
10 | | dissemination of information concerning residential real |
11 | | property located in the State of Illinois and making that |
12 | | information available to the public. |
13 | | (b) If an online real estate database provider includes, in |
14 | | its information concerning residential real property located |
15 | | in the State of Illinois, information or summaries of |
16 | | information that includes grades, rankings, or other |
17 | | indications of a school's quality for a school district in |
18 | | which the residential real property is located or the schools |
19 | | that serve the geographic area in which the residential real |
20 | | property is located, then the online real estate database |
21 | | provider must use the most recent information available under |
22 | | Section 10-17a of the School Code. |
23 | | (c) A violation of this Section is an unlawful practice |
