Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Provides that July 3rd of each year is designated as Citizens Re-entry Day to be observed as a day in recognition of ex-offenders who have been provided with an opportunity to re-enter society as productive citizens, and as a day to encourage continuing support of such citizens as they re-enter their communities.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
5 | | adding Section 195 as follows: |
6 | | (5 ILCS 490/195 new) |
7 | | Sec. 195. Citizens Re-entry Day. July 3rd of each year is |
8 | | designated as Citizens Re-entry Day to be observed as a day in |
9 | | recognition of ex-offenders who have been provided with an |
10 | | opportunity to re-enter society as productive citizens, and as |
