Amends the Department of Transportation Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Transportation shall increase the number of grants issued to a municipality when the purpose of the grant is an infrastructure improvement that would allow the municipality to accomplish its economic development goals. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Transportation Law of the
|
| 5 | | Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding |
| 6 | | Section 2705-455 as follows:
|

| 8 | | Sec. 2705-455. Infrastructure grants. The Department shall |
| 9 | | increase the number of grants issued to a municipality under |
| 10 | | this Law when the purpose of the grant is an infrastructure |
| 11 | | improvement that would allow the municipality to accomplish its |
| 12 | | economic development goals.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 | | becoming law.
