AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3259

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3259 by replacing everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. “AN ACT concerning appropriations”, Public Act 99-524, approved June 30, 2016, is amended by changing Section 5 of Article 220 and Section 1 of Article 998 and by adding Articles 226 and 227 as follows:

     (P.A. 99-524, Art. 220, Sec. 5)

    Sec. 5. The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects and purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to the Department of Human Services for income assistance and related distributive purposes, including such Federal funds  as are made available by the Federal Government for the following purposes:

DISTRIBUTIVE ITEMS

GRANTS-IN-AID

Payable from the Commitment to Human Services Fund:

  For Funeral and Burial Expenses under

   Articles III, IV, and V, including

   prior year costs.................... 2,000,000 8,775,000

  For costs associated with the

   Illinois Welcoming Centers ......................1,461,500

  For Grants and Administrative

   Expenses associated with Immigrant

   Integration Services and for other

   Immigrant Services pursuant to 305 ILCS

   5/12-4.34..................................... 5,884,100

    (P.A. 99-524, Art. 226 new)

ARTICLE 226

Sec. 5. The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects and purposes hereinafter named, are appropriated to the Department of Human Services for income assistance and related distributive purposes, including such Federal funds as are made available by the Federal Government for the following purposes:

DISTRIBUTIVE ITEMS

GRANTS-IN-AID

Payable from the Personal Property Tax Replacement Fund:

For Funeral and Burial Expenses under

Articles III, IV, and V, including

prior year costs........................... $10,000,000

    (P.A. 99-524, Art. 227 new)

ARTICLE 227

Sec. 5. The following named amounts, or so much thereof as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects hereinafter named, are appropriated to the Department of Human Services for Family and Community Services and related distributive purposes, including such Federal funds as are made available by the Federal government for the following purposes:

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY SERVICES

GRANTS-IN-AID

Payable from the Commitment to Human Services Fund:

For Costs Associated with the

Domestic Violence Shelters

and Services Program....................... $18,635,000

    (P.A. 99-524, Art. 998, Sec. 1)

    Sec. 1. Appropriations in Articles 1 through 73 are for fiscal year 2016. Appropriations in Articles 75 through 227 225 are for fiscal year 2017.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.".
