SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

410 ILCS 82/15

Amends the Smoke Free Illinois Act. Provides that no person shall smoke within 15 feet of any entrance to an enclosed or partially enclosed youth sporting event. Provides that no person shall smoke within 250 feet of the field of play, including areas for spectators and participants, at a youth sporting event held in an outdoor setting. Defines "youth sporting event" as an event where all players are under the age of 18 and the event is sponsored and supervised by a public body or a not-for-profit entity.

A BILL FOR

AN ACT concerning health.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Smoke Free Illinois Act is amended by changing Section 15 as follows:

Sec. 15. Smoking in public places, places of employment, and governmental vehicles and at youth sporting events prohibited. No person shall smoke in a public place, enclosed or partially enclosed youth sporting event, or in any place of employment or within 15 feet of any entrance to a public place or place of employment. No person may smoke in any vehicle owned, leased, or operated by the State or a political subdivision of the State. An owner shall reasonably assure that smoking is prohibited in indoor public places and workplaces unless specifically exempted by Section 35 of this Act.

No person shall smoke within 250 feet of the field of play, including areas for spectators and participants, at a youth sporting event held in an outdoor setting. For the purposes of this Section, "youth sporting event" means an event where all players are under the age of 18 and the event is sponsored and supervised by a public body or a not-for-profit entity.
