Amends the Illinois Insurance Code. Provides that no policy of individual or group accident and health insurance issued, amended, delivered, or renewed on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act may impose any preexisting condition exclusion with respect to that plan or coverage.

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 356z.25 as follows: |
6 | | (215 ILCS 5/356z.25 new) |
7 | | Sec. 356z.25. Preexisting condition exclusion. No policy |
8 | | of individual or group accident and health insurance issued, |
9 | | amended, delivered, or renewed on or after the effective date |
10 | | of this amendatory Act of the 100th General Assembly may impose |
11 | | any preexisting condition exclusion, as defined in the Illinois |
12 | | Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, with |
13 | | respect to such plan or coverage.
