Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that it is unlawful for the Department of Transportation, its employees and its agents to knowingly misrepresent any facts in relation to the submission of plans, maps, specifications, costs of construction, bids, or contracts for any Department project.

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Highway Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 4-107 as follows: |
6 | | (605 ILCS 5/4-107 new) |
7 | | Sec. 4-107. Misrepresentation. In order to assure high |
8 | | quality and durable construction in conformity with approved |
9 | | plans and specifications and a high degree of reliability of |
10 | | statements and representations made by the Department, it is |
11 | | unlawful for the Department, its employees and its agents, in |
12 | | relation to the submission of plans, maps, specifications, |
13 | | costs of construction, bids, or contracts for any Department |
14 | | project, to knowingly falsify, distort, or misrepresent any |
15 | | facts concerning: (1) the character, quality, cost, or quantity |
16 | | of material already used or to be used; (2) the quality, cost, |
17 | | or quantity of any work already performed or to be performed; |
18 | | and (3) any other related costs.
