2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

4 | | Section 5. The Communicable Disease Prevention Act is |
5 | | amended by changing Section 2d as follows:
|

7 | | Sec. 2d.
The
The Illinois Department
of Public Health
may |
8 | | pay for health
insurance coverage with funds appropriated for |
9 | | this purpose on behalf of
persons who are infected with the |
10 | | human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and
are eligible for |
11 | | "continuation coverage" as provided by the federal
|
12 | | Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act of 1985 or group |
13 | | health
insurance policies. The Illinois Department
of Public |
14 | | Health
shall adopt rules to establish
income eligibility |
15 | | requirements for participation in this health insurance
|
16 | | coverage program. The Illinois Department
of Public Health
|
17 | | shall also adopt rules and
regulations to administer this |
18 | | program that are in compliance with the
requirements of the |
19 | | federal Ryan White Comprehensive AIDS Resources
Emergency Act |
20 | | of 1990. |
