Amends the Personnel Code. Provides that emergency appointments may be renewed if the renewal is authorized by the Director of Central Management Services. Provides that temporary

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Personnel Code is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Sections 8b.8 and 8b.9 as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 8b.8.
For emergency appointments to any positions in |
| 8 | | the State service
for a period not to exceed 60 days, to meet |
| 9 | | emergency situations. Emergency
appointments may be made |
| 10 | | without regard to eligible lists but may not be
renewed unless |
| 11 | | otherwise authorized by the Director of Central Management |
| 12 | | Services. Notice of such appointments and terminations shall be |
| 13 | | reported
simultaneously to the Director of Central Management |
| 14 | | Services.
