| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2407, on page 6, |
| 3 | | immediately below line 5, by inserting the following: |
| 4 | | "When annexing territory separated from the municipality |
| 5 | | by a lake, river, or other waterway, the municipality also |
| 6 | | annexes the portion of the lake, river, or other waterway that |
| 7 | | would make the municipality and territory contiguous if the |
| 8 | | lake, river, or other waterway is under the jurisdiction and |
| 9 | | control of another unit of local government or the State, or |
| 10 | | the federal government if allowed under federal law, except for |
| 11 | | any territory within the corporate limits of another |
| 12 | | municipality.".
