2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Pharmacy Practice Act is amended by changing |
5 | | Section 8 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 85/8) (from Ch. 111, par. 4128)

7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on January 1, 2018)

8 | | Sec. 8. Licensure by endorsement; emergency licensure.
The
|
9 | | The Department may, in its discretion, license
as a pharmacist, |
10 | | without examination, on payment of the required fee,
an |
11 | | applicant who is so licensed under the laws of another U.S. |
12 | | jurisdiction
or another country, if the requirements for |
13 | | licensure in the other
jurisdiction in which the applicant was |
14 | | licensed, were, at the date
of his or her licensure deemed by |
15 | | the Board to be substantially equivalent
to the requirements |
16 | | then in force in this State. |
17 | | A person holding an active, unencumbered license in good
|
18 | | standing in another jurisdiction who applies for a license
|
19 | | pursuant to Section 7 of this Act due to a natural disaster or
|
20 | | catastrophic event in another jurisdiction may be temporarily
|
21 | | authorized by the Secretary to practice pharmacy pending the
|
22 | | issuance of the license. This temporary authorization shall |
23 | | expire upon issuance of the license or upon notification that |
