1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Conveyances Act is amended by changing
5Section 2 as follows:
 
6    (765 ILCS 5/2)  (from Ch. 30, par. 2)
7    Sec. 2. Every estate, gift, grant, deed, mortgage, lease,
8release, or confirmation of lands, tenements, rents, services
9or hereditaments made or had, or hereafter to be made or had,
10by any person or persons, being of full age and and sound mind,
11and not procured by duress, to any person or persons, and all
12recoveries, judgments and enforcements had or made, or to be
13had or made, shall be good and effectual to him, her or them to
14whom it is or shall be so made, had or given, and to all others,
15to his, her or their use, against the judgment debtor, seller,
16donor, grantor, mortgagor, lessor, releasor, or confirmor, and
17against his, her or their heirs, claiming the same only as heir
18or heirs, and each of them, and against all others having or
19claiming any title or interest in the same, only to the use of
20the same judgment debtor, seller, donor, grantor, mortgagor,
21lessor, releasor or confirmor, or his, her or their heirs, at
22the time of the judgment, enforcement, bargain, sale, mortgage,
23covenant, lease, release, gift or grant made.
