Amends the State Mandates Act. Provides that the General Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under the Act during a calendar year which contains a general election.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Mandates Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 9.2 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (30 ILCS 805/9.2 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 9.2. No unfunded mandates during election years. |
| 8 | | Notwithstanding any other provision of this Act, the General |
| 9 | | Assembly shall not approve of any unfunded mandates under this |
| 10 | | Act during a calendar year which contains a general election as |
| 11 | | defined in the Election Code.
