AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 223




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 223 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
 
4    "Section 5. The Nursing Home Care Act is amended  by 
5changing Section 2-106a as follows:
 



6    (210 ILCS 45/2-106a)



7    Sec. 2-106a. Resident identification wristlet. An 
8identification wristlet may be employed for any resident upon a 
9physician's order, which shall document the need for the 
10identification wristlet in the resident's clinical record. A 
11facility may require a resident residing in an Alzheimer's 
12disease unit with a history of wandering to wear an 
13identification wristlet, unless the resident's guardian or 
14power of attorney directs that the wristlet be removed. All 
15identification wristlets shall include, at a
minimum, No 
16identification
wristlets shall be employed except as ordered by

1a physician who documents the
need for such mandatory 
2identification in the resident's clinical record.  When

3identification bracelets are required, they must identify the 
4resident's name,
and the name, telephone number, and address of 
5the facility issuing the identification wristlet.
