1 | AN ACT concerning government.

2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||
3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
4 | Section 5. Property; conveyance. (a) The State of Illinois, | ||||||
5 | through the Department of State Police, owed real estate | ||||||
6 | located at 13863 S. Cicero Avenue, Crestwood, IL 60418, State | ||||||
7 | of Illinois Site No. G0020, being the former location of the | ||||||
8 | Illinois State Police District 4 Headquarters, further | ||||||
9 | described as: | ||||||
10 | THE EAST 270 FEET OF THE WEST 320 FEET OF THE SOUTH 160 | ||||||
11 | FEET OF THE NORTHWEST 1/4 OF SECTION 3, TOWNSHIP 36 NORTH, | ||||||
12 | RANGE 13, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK | ||||||
13 | COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SUBJECT to easements, rights of way, | ||||||
14 | restrictions and covenants of record; Parcel ID No. | ||||||
15 | 28-03-100-003-0000. | ||||||
16 | (b) The Village of Crestwood has previously acquired this | ||||||
17 | property by quitclaim deed in accordance with "An Act | ||||||
18 | concerning civil law", Public Act 99-0931. | ||||||
19 | (c) The quitclaim deed conveying the property to the | ||||||
20 | Village of Crestwood stated that the real property shall be | ||||||
21 | used by the Village for public purposes and if the real | ||||||
22 | property is used for any other purpose other than a public | ||||||
23 | purpose, then the title shall revert without further action to | ||||||
24 | the State of Illinois. |

1 | (d) By reason of the substantial expenses incurred and to | ||||||
2 | be incurred by the Village in rehabilitating the property and | ||||||
3 | remediating environmental conditions on the property occurring | ||||||
4 | during ownership by the State of Illinois, the requirement that | ||||||
5 | the Village use the property for public purposes is hereby | ||||||
6 | withdrawn and rescinded, and title shall not revert without | ||||||
7 | further action to the State of Illinois upon conveyance of the | ||||||
8 | property to a purchaser as determined by the Village of | ||||||
9 | Crestwood. If the Village of Crestwood sells or leases the | ||||||
10 | property for a private purpose, 50% of the proceeds remaining | ||||||
11 | after deducting the costs incurred by the Village in preparing | ||||||
12 | the property for lease or sale shall be paid to the State of | ||||||
13 | Illinois. | ||||||
14 | Section 15. Recording. The Director of State Police shall | ||||||
15 | prepare a quitclaim deed to release its interest in the real | ||||||
16 | property and to release the reverter clause previously recorded | ||||||
17 | as a lien against the property. The Director may also record a | ||||||
18 | certified copy of this Act. Each quitclaim deed shall reference | ||||||
19 | this Act and the reversionary language being rescinded. All | ||||||
20 | documents shall be recorded in the County of Cook.

21 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
22 | becoming law.
