    AN ACT concerning human rights.
 
    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
represented in the General Assembly:
 
    Section 5. The Illinois Human Rights Act is amended by
adding Section 3-105.1 as follows:
 
    (775 ILCS 5/3-105.1 new)
    Sec. 3-105.1. Interference, coercion, or intimidation. It
is a civil rights violation to coerce, intimidate, threaten, or
interfere with any person in the exercise or enjoyment of, or
on account of his or her having exercised or enjoyed, or on
account of his or her having aided or encouraged any other
person in the exercise or enjoyment of, any right granted or
protected by this Article 3.
 
    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January
1, 2006.
