Sec. 50. Acquisition of property. (a) The transportation agency may exercise any power of condemnation or eminent domain, including quick-take powers, that it has under law, including, in the case of the Department, all powers for acquisition of property rights granted it in the Illinois Highway Code, for the purpose of acquiring any lands or estates or interests in land for a transportation project to the extent provided in the public-private agreement or otherwise to the extent that the transportation agency finds that the action serves the public purpose of this Act and deems it appropriate in the exercise of its powers under this Act. (b) The transportation agency and a contractor may enter into the leases, licenses, easements, and other grants of property interests that the transportation agency determines necessary to carry out this Act.
