(5 ILCS 225/) (Transportation Cooperation Act of 1971.)

Title: An Act in anticipation of the effective date of the Illinois Constitution of 1970 and to implement Article XIII, Section 7 to authorize universities and units of local government to aid and promote rail passenger service, and to promote an efficient transportation system within this State, by authorizing universities and units of local government, to associate and contract for the purpose of obtaining and supplying funds to provide railroad passenger service in addition to the basic service operated by the National Railroad Passenger Corporation, and to promote an efficient transportation system generally within this State.
