HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Marlena Ascher on the 
4occasion of her retirement as president and board member of the 
5Northwest Arts Connection (NAC) on February 1, 2018; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In addition to serving as president and board 
7member, Marlena Ascher founded the organization in 2012; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Marlena Ascher's desire was to transform the 
9northwest side into a destination for artists, and by all 
10accounts, she has far exceeded her original goal; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS,  Some of Marlena Ascher's accomplishments include 
12establishing the Avondale
Restaurant Crawl, the Around the 
13Corner Student Arts Exhibits, and the Annual
Winter Wonderland 
14at City Newsstand; and
  
 
  
15    WHEREAS, Under the direction of Marlena Ascher, the NAC has 
16achieved an excellent reputation, and she will be greatly 
17missed; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20congratulate Marlena Ascher on her retirement as president and

1board member of the Northwest Arts Connection, and we wish her 
2the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Marlena Ascher as a symbol of our respect and 
5esteem.
