HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 was established by 
3neighborhood residents for the
betterment of their community by 
4working together to address and resolve neighborhood issues; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 was established to 
7promote safety in their
community by communicating with their 
8neighbors and remaining vigilant of unwanted activities
within 
9the neighborhood; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37, acting as a unified 
11voice, communicates regularly
with elected officials for the 
12betterment of their neighborhood; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 has remained a pillar 
14in the city of Blue Island
promoting community engagement, 
15unity, and cultural awareness; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Neighborhood Watch Group 37 hosts an annual event 
17for the community of Blue
Island known as Black Culture Nite in 
18Blue Island with the intentions of bringing awareness to
the 
19contributions African Americans have made to our country; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, In celebration of Black History Month,

1Neighborhood Watch Group 37 will host
their 18th annual Black 
2Culture Nite in Blue Island on February 16, 2018; therefore, be 
3it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6recognize Neighborhood Watch Group 37
for their dedication to 
7improving the lives of Blue Island Residents and their cultural

8contributions to our community; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy  of this resolution be 
10presented to Neighborhood Watch Group
37 during their annual 
11Black Culture Nite in Blue Island.
