AN ACT concerning State government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, and |
Coal Resources
Development Law of 1997 is amended by adding |
Section 6-6.5 as follows: |
(20 ILCS 687/6-6.5 new) |
Sec. 6-6.5. Utilization of Renewable Energy on State-Owned |
Properties Task Force. |
(a) The Utilization of Renewable Energy on State-Owned |
Properties Task Force is hereby created. The Task Force shall |
consider the economics and feasibility of installing and |
maintaining renewable energy facilities on State-owned |
property and the impact and benefits to the community and the |
State. |
(b) The Task Force shall be formed within 60 days after the |
effective date of this amendatory Act of the 99th General |
Assembly and shall be comprised of the following members: |
(1) two members appointed by the Speaker of the House |
of Representatives; |
(2) two members appointed by the Minority Leader of the |
House of Representatives; |
(3) two members appointed by the President of the |

Senate; |
(4) two members appointed by the Minority Leader of the |
Senate; |
(5) the Director of the Illinois Environmental |
Protection Agency, or his or her designee; |
(6) the Director of the Department of Natural |
Resources, or his or her designee; |
(7) the Director of the Department of Central |
Management Services, or his or her designee; |
(8) one member appointed by the Governor to represent |
the public, who shall serve as chair of the Task Force; |
(9) one member appointed by the Governor with business |
experience in renewable energy development; and |
(10) the Executive Director of the Capital Development |
Board, or his or her designee. |
(c) The members of the Task Force shall not receive |
compensation for their services, but may be reimbursed for |
travel expenses related to the duties of the Task Force. |
(d) The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity |
shall provide administrative support to the Task Force. |
(e) The Task Force shall compile their findings and |
recommendations in a report to be presented to the Governor and |
the members of the General Assembly on or before September 1, |
2016. The Task Force shall be dissolved upon submission of the |
report. |
(f) This Section is repealed on January 1, 2017.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law. |
