AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3446 

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3446 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Child Care Act of 1969 is amended by adding 
5Sections 3.02 and 9.1d as follows:
 
6    (225 ILCS 10/3.02 new)
7    Sec. 3.02. Psychology coursework; early childhood teacher 
8qualifications. Introduction to psychology courses, childhood 
9development courses, and child psychology courses provided in 
10this State shall count toward the semester hours that an early 
11childhood teacher must obtain to be qualified under 89 Ill. 
12Adm. Code 407.140. The Department may adopt rules to 
13administer this Section.
 
14    (225 ILCS 10/9.1d new)
15    Sec. 9.1d. List of courses. Before July 1, 2026, the

1Department shall publish and maintain on its website a full 
2and complete list of courses that qualify toward the 
3attainment of the required qualifications for an early 
4childhood teacher. On and after July 1, 2026, the Department 
5of Early Childhood shall publish and maintain on its website a 
6full and complete list of courses that qualify toward the 
7attainment of the required qualifications for an early 
8childhood teacher.".
