| 1 | AN ACT concerning government. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | |||||||||||||||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Flag Display Act is amended by changing | |||||||||||||||||||
| 5 | Section 1 as follows: | |||||||||||||||||||
| 6 | (5 ILCS 465/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3301) | |||||||||||||||||||
| 7 | Sec. 1. It shall be the duty of each county board to | |||||||||||||||||||
| 8 | provide United States national flags of not less than four by | |||||||||||||||||||
| 9 | eight feet in size, to be unfurled and kept floating from a | |||||||||||||||||||
| 10 | suitable flag-staff to be placed on the top of or on the | |||||||||||||||||||
| 11 | grounds of the court house in its respective county, and it is | |||||||||||||||||||
| 12 | hereby made the duty of the sheriff of each and every county in | |||||||||||||||||||
| 13 | the State to see that the flag so provided shall be hoisted on | |||||||||||||||||||
| 14 | its flag-staff above or at the court house and kept floating | |||||||||||||||||||
| 15 | from eight o'clock a.m. to five o'clock p.m. on each and every | |||||||||||||||||||
| 16 | legal holiday of the year, and on such other days as the county | |||||||||||||||||||
| 17 | board may direct. | |||||||||||||||||||
| 18 | The county board may provide for the display of an MIA flag | |||||||||||||||||||
| 19 | at the court house in its county, either upon the same | |||||||||||||||||||
| 20 | flag-staff as the United States national flag or otherwise. | |||||||||||||||||||
