| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Linda N. | ||||||
| 4 | Hoefert of Mount Prospect, who passed away on October 19, | ||||||
| 5 | 2025; and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was born to Robert and Barbara | ||||||
| 7 | (Brayton) Nelson in Elgin on December 6, 1955; she was raised | ||||||
| 8 | in Crystal Lake and Cary, and she attended Cary-Grove High | ||||||
| 9 | School; she received a degree in accounting from Miami | ||||||
| 10 | University of Ohio; she married Paul Hoefert; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert worked as a commercial banker at | ||||||
| 12 | First National Bank before devoting herself to raising her | ||||||
| 13 | family; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was a charter member of the Village | ||||||
| 15 | of Mount Prospect's Special Events Commission, serving for | ||||||
| 16 | more than 25 years, and she often helped plan and co-host the | ||||||
| 17 | commission's Shining Star Awards ceremony; she was also | ||||||
| 18 | involved with the Mount Prospect Historical Society and worked | ||||||
| 19 | on the celebration committees for the village's 75th and 100th | ||||||
| 20 | anniversaries; and | ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was active with Trinity United | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Methodist Church and volunteered in various organizations, | ||||||
| 2 | including the Infant Welfare Society, the Philanthropic | ||||||
| 3 | Educational Organization (P.E.O.), and Boy Scout Troop 23; and | ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert, for her decades of service to the | ||||||
| 5 | Village of Mount Prospect, received the Living Legend Award by | ||||||
| 6 | the Special Events Commission in 2022; and | ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert loved taking trips to her family | ||||||
| 8 | cabin in Mercer, Wisconsin; she enjoyed renovating her older | ||||||
| 9 | home, gardening, bird-watching, and being in nature; she | ||||||
| 10 | especially enjoyed spending time with her family; and | ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was an amazing spouse, mother, | ||||||
| 12 | daughter, sister, and friend to many; she will be remembered | ||||||
| 13 | as a loyal person who was always willing to help her family, | ||||||
| 14 | her friends, and her community; and | ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 16 | parents; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Linda Hoefert is survived by her husband, Mayor | ||||||
| 18 | Paul Hoefert of the Village of Mount Prospect; her sons, Alex | ||||||
| 19 | (Sara) Hoefert and Andrew Hoefert; three grandchildren; her | ||||||
| 20 | siblings, Bob Nelson and Susan (Denny) Rasmussen; her extended | ||||||
| 21 | family; and many close friends; therefore, be it | ||||||

| 1 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 2 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 3 | we mourn the passing of Linda N. Hoefert and extend our sincere | ||||||
| 4 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved | ||||||
| 5 | her; and be it further | ||||||
| 6 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 7 | presented to the family of Linda Hoefert as an expression of | ||||||
| 8 | our deepest sympathy. | ||||||
