| 1 | SENATE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
| 3 | to learn of the death of Amy Rae Gudgel of Pawnee, who passed | ||||||
| 4 | away on May 16, 2025; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Amy Gudgel, the daughter of Steve L. and Anida R. | ||||||
| 6 | Ellis Riney, was born in Keokuk, Iowa on October 15, 1971; she | ||||||
| 7 | graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield in 1989; | ||||||
| 8 | she married Steven E. "Steve" Gudgel at St. Benedict's Church | ||||||
| 9 | in Auburn on July 13, 1996; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, Amy Gudgel worked as a dispatcher for the | ||||||
| 11 | Sangamon County Sheriff's Office for five years and then in | ||||||
| 12 | management at the Corporation Service Company (CSC) in | ||||||
| 13 | Springfield for 26 years; and | ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Amy Gudgel enjoyed taking trips to Mexico and | ||||||
| 15 | riding in her Bronco with the top off; she always loved having | ||||||
| 16 | fun, including relaxing in a pool, playing poker with family | ||||||
| 17 | and friends, and spending time with those she loved; and | ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Amy Gudgel was preceded in death by her father | ||||||
| 19 | and her niece, Megan Sheppard; and | ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, Amy Gudgel is survived by her husband of 28 | ||||||

| 1 | years, Steve; her daughter, Hannah N. (Evan Mahan) Gudgel; her | ||||||
| 2 | mother; her siblings, Steve Riney, Jamie Riney, and Lisa | ||||||
| 3 | (Jamie) Flynn; her in-laws, Butch Gudgel, Connie Gudgel, | ||||||
| 4 | Michael (Tonya) Gudgel, Tracy (Scott) Sheppard, and Melissa | ||||||
| 5 | (Tom) Williams; several nieces and nephews; and her granddog, | ||||||
| 6 | Rex; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 7 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
| 8 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
| 9 | Amy Rae Gudgel and extend our sincere condolences to her | ||||||
| 10 | family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it | ||||||
| 11 | further | ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 13 | presented to the family of Amy Gudgel as an expression of our | ||||||
