| 1 | AN ACT concerning government. | ||||||
| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, | ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly: | ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Flag Display Act is amended by changing | ||||||
| 5 | Section 1 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (5 ILCS 465/1) (from Ch. 1, par. 3301) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 1. It shall be the duty of each county board to | ||||||
| 8 | provide United States national flags of not less than four by | ||||||
| 9 | eight feet in size, to be unfurled and kept floating from a | ||||||
| 10 | suitable flag-staff to be placed on the top of or prominently | ||||||
| 11 | displayed on the grounds of the court house in its respective | ||||||
| 12 | county, and it is hereby made the duty of the sheriff of each | ||||||
| 13 | and every county in the State to see that the flag so provided | ||||||
| 14 | shall be hoisted on its flag-staff above or at the court house | ||||||
| 15 | and kept floating from eight o'clock a.m. to five o'clock p.m. | ||||||
| 16 | on each and every legal holiday of the year, and on such other | ||||||
| 17 | days as the county board may direct. | ||||||
| 18 | The county board may provide for the display of an MIA flag | ||||||
| 19 | at the court house in its county, either upon the same | ||||||
| 20 | flag-staff as the United States national flag or otherwise. | ||||||
