HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to commend the attorneys and staff of the Legislative Reference Bureau for their indispensable service to the people of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau is a legislative support service agency established by the Legislative Reference Bureau Act; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau is open at all times when the General Assembly is in session; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau provides legal assistance and information to every member of the General Assembly in the preparation of bills, memorials, resolutions, orders, and amendments proposed to be introduced into the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau collects, catalogues, classifies, indexes, and summarizes all bills, resolutions, and orders introduced in each branch of the General Assembly, as well as related amendments, conference committee reports, and veto messages; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau reviews all reported decisions of Federal courts, the Illinois Supreme Court, and the Illinois Appellate Court that affect the interpretation of the Illinois Constitution or statutes and reports the results of its research annually to the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau supervises the participation of the State of Illinois in the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws; and

WHEREAS, The Legislative Reference Bureau employs attorneys and staff to fulfill its statutorily mandated duties; and

WHEREAS, The attorneys and staff of the Legislative Reference Bureau continually make personal sacrifices to serve as a critical resource for every member of the General Assembly; and

WHEREAS, The attorneys and staff of the Legislative Reference Bureau reliably fulfill their duties with the utmost diligence, dependability, and integrity; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend the attorneys and staff of the Legislative Reference Bureau for their commitment to fulfilling their duties, dedication to supporting the members of the General Assembly, and service to the people of Illinois; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be delivered to the attorneys and staff of the Legislative Reference Bureau as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
