Amends the IMRF Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides
that a person who is employed as an investigator on a full-time basis
by the Office of a State's Attorney and performs police duties may
participate in the Fund as a sheriff's law enforcement employee
(SLEP); requires county board approval. Effective immediately.
PENSION NOTE (Illinois Pension Laws Commission)
The fiscal impact of HB 6020 cannot be determined, as the num-
ber of counties that would allow eligible employees to become
SLEP members is unknown. There would be an increase in accrued
liabilities and annual costs for counties that allow full-time
investigators (with police duties) for the Office of a State's
Attorney to be included under the SLEP formula.
