HANNIG. New Act Creates the Correctional Facilities Nursing Services Privatization Regulation Act. Lists conditions under which award of nursing services contracts in State correctional facilities to private contractors at cost saving to the State is permissible. Requires that contractors submit a report to the Department of Corrections in order to be eligible for providing nursing services, and lists requirements for that report. Requires that contractors providing services must submit annual reports, and lists requirements for those reports. Authorizes the State to withhold reimbursement to contractors who provide services but are found to have failed to comply with the required privatization conditions. Provides a notification procedure to organizations that represent State nurses prior to awarding of contracts. Authorizes the Department of Central Management Services to review contractor compliance with required privatization conditions. Provides protection of workers employed by a private contractor who is found not in compliance with required privatization conditions.
