SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Herbert Claussen Snider of Crystal Lake,
4who passed away on April 7, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Herbert Snider was born in Chicago on December 5,
61928 to Frederick and Stella (nee Claussen) Snider; he attended
7Morgan Park Military Academy and graduated from Iowa State
8University; he served in the United States Marines during the
9Korean War and married Blanche Cravener on July 4, 1953; they
10lived in Hickory Hills, Oak Lawn, and Hoffman Estates, before
11settling in Crystal Lake; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Herbert Snider was an active church member and
13volunteered his time to the Crystal Lake Food Pantry and his
14church for over 20 years; he was an avid fan of the Chicago
15Cubs, the Chicago Bears, military history, and genealogy; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Herbert Snider is survived by his wife of 60
17years, Blanche; 5 children, Steve (Mary), Don (Michelle), Jim,
18Scott (Deb), and Sheri (Tony); 12 grandchildren, Rachel,
19Richard, Christina, Don Jr., Laura, Matthew, Kelly, Keith,
20Jamie, Alyssa, Andrew, and Sarah; 6 great-grandchildren,
21Madison, Morgan, Emma, Liam, Andrew, and Lauryn; and his
22brother, Frederick (Ann); therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Herbert C. Snider, and extend our sincere condolences to his
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Herbert Snider as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
