SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Anthony Vernon Fick of McHenry, who
4passed away on June 30, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was born in Chicago on June 25, 1949,
6to Oscar and Geneva (Sobieski) Fick; he graduated from Grant
7High School in Fox Lake in 1967, where he was all-conference in
8football and wrestling and a member of the varsity band
9(saxophone), thespians, a cappella, and student council; he
10attended Merchant Marine Academy and graduated from Carthage
11College in 1973 with a degree in elementary education; he
12married Mary O'Laughlin on June 27, 1987, at Grace Lutheran
13Church in Richmond; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Anthony Fick received his insurance license in
151974 and served the McHenry County area for 39 years; he
16coached pee wee football in McHenry and defense at Marian
17Central High School; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was a member of Shepherd of the Hills
19Church in McHenry and a former member of the Jaycees and the
20Moose Lodge; he enjoyed playing golf, chess, and cards and was
21an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; and

1    WHEREAS, Anthony Fick was preceded in death by his parents
2and his sister, Patricia Catalano; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Anthony Fick is survived by his wife; his
4children, Matthew (Julie) Fick, Shannon (James) Darling, Sara
5(Daniel) Bowman, Kristie (Joseph) Demayo, and Sandra (Jamie)
6Gladish; his brothers, Oscar (Jeanie) Fick, Curtiss (Sherri)
7Fick, and Michael (Mary Ellen) Fick; his sister, Bonnie (Craig)
8Stratton; his grandchildren, Raegan, Kaitlyn, Austin, Logan,
9Ryann, Miles, Daniel, Arabella, Nathanial, Edward, William,
10Arthur, and Shea-Leigh; and numerous nieces and nephews;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Anthony Vernon Fick, and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Anthony Fick as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
