SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joanne L. Elbrecht of Virden, who passed
4away on February 15, 2013; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht was born on May 14, 1933, in
6Petersburg; her parents were Bruce and Emma Jackson; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht was a homemaker; she also held
8several clerical positions for a number of temporary services
9before finally retiring as a secretary at Julie Davis Realtors;
10and
 
11    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht was a member of the Grace Southern
12Baptist Church in Virden, Virden Senior Citizens, and a past
13member of Divernon American Legion Auxiliary; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht enjoyed singing and sang in
15several church choirs in her younger days; she loved to travel
16and did much of it solo, preferring to stick to the back roads
17and unbeaten paths that led her to her next adventure; she also
18loved reading, listening to country music, and spending time
19with her family and friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht was preceded in death by her first

1husband, Gene Fifer, and her second husband, Harold Chaplin;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joanne Elbrecht is survived by her husband,
4Herbert; her daughters, Connie (Jeff) LeMar and Holly (Leon
5"Chip") Cormier; her stepdaughter, Beverly (Cliff) Franklin;
6her sons, David Fifer and Dale (Ramona) Fifer; her stepson,
7Gary Elbrecht; her brother, Bill (Rose) Jackson; her
8grandchildren, Chad (Keri) LeMar, Aimee (Mitch) Shoen, Clint
9LeMar, and Shelby LeMar; her many step-grandchildren; her 4
10great-grandchildren; her many step-great-grandchildren; and
11her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14her family and friends, the passing of Joanne L. Elbrecht; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Joanne Elbrecht as an expression of
18our sympathy.
