| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the staff and | ||||||
| 4 | administration of the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center on | ||||||
| 5 | the occasion of the center's 50th anniversary; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The Murray Center was built in 1964 to meet the | ||||||
| 7 | needs of children with severe developmental disabilities; the | ||||||
| 8 | Murray Center is located in Centralia in Marion County; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, The Murray Center currently is the home to 240 | ||||||
| 10 | residents, with over half of these residents calling the Murray | ||||||
| 11 | Center their home for over 20 years; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Many of the residents have complex needs that are | ||||||
| 13 | met by the caring Murray staff, with many of the residents | ||||||
| 14 | having a dual diagnosis of a developmental disability and a | ||||||
| 15 | mental disability; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The Murray Center provides 24-hour care for its | ||||||
| 17 | residents, which provides the residents with incredible care | ||||||
| 18 | from the courteous staff at their home; and | ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The Murray Parents Association, comprised of | ||||||
| 20 | families of Murray Center residents, has been very grateful for | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | the care and treatment their loved ones receive from the Murray | ||||||
| 2 | staff; and
| ||||||
| 3 | WHEREAS, The Murray Center has been providing this high | ||||||
| 4 | quality service for 50 years, making it a shining light and | ||||||
| 5 | model for other developmental facilities to follow in their | ||||||
| 6 | success; residents and families have been extremely pleased | ||||||
| 7 | with the service provided by the staff; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, The Warren G. Murray Developmental Center has | ||||||
| 9 | provided an invaluable resource for the residents who call the | ||||||
| 10 | Center their home, helping the Murray Parents Association know | ||||||
| 11 | that their loved ones are being provided with the best care | ||||||
| 12 | from a truly remarkable staff that takes great pride in their | ||||||
| 13 | work caring for the residents; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate the staff and administration of the Warren G. | ||||||
| 17 | Murray Developmental Center on the 50th anniversary of | ||||||
| 18 | providing a wonderful place for its residents to call home; and | ||||||
| 19 | be it further

| 20 | RESOLVED, That we wish the staff and administration of the | ||||||
| 21 | Murray Center another 50 years of great success in caring for | ||||||
| 22 | its residents and being a part of the Centralia community; and | ||||||
