SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Lawrence "Gary" Morrison, who passed away
4on June 20, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was born Sept. 13, 1935, in
6Richwood Township, Jersey County; his parents were Lawrence and
7Marjorie (Harmon) Morrison; he married Joyce Flatt on January
81, 1960, in Macomb; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison spent his life as a farmer on
10the Family Centennial Farm where he was born; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was active in many
12organizations throughout his life; he served as a director for
13MJM Electric Cooperative for over 20 years; he was a member of
14the state-wide AIEC Electric Cooperative Board of Directors and
15the Adopt a Family Farm Board of Directors; he was a trustee of
16the Fieldon First Baptist Church, Richwood Township, and
17Gunterman Cemetery; he was a Richwood Township Republican
18Committeeman; he was also a member of the Tri-County Antique
19Club/Cowboy Church and the Jersey County Farm Bureau; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison was preceded in death by his
21parents; his brother, George Morrison; and his sister, Connie

2    WHEREAS, Lawrence Morrison is survived by his wife, Joyce;
3his special nephews, Don (Donna) Phillips and David (Lisa)
4Phillips; his sisters, Janet (Richard) Gilworth, Barbara
5Scott, Carol (Tom) Vogel, Beverly Phillips, Karen (Pat)
6Heitzig, and Patty (Bob) Wetzel; his many nieces and nephews;
7and his foster granddaughter, Jennifer Schultz Dougherty;
8therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Lawrence "Gary"
12Morrison; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Lawrence Morrison as an expression
15of our sympathy.
