SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Frederick A. Wuellner, who passed away on
4November 19, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was born on July 16, 1923, in
6Alton; he was the son of Andrew J. and Emma (Leib) Wuellner; he
7married Betty J. Purcell on December 30, 1947, at Saints Peter
8and Paul Catholic Church in Alton; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner served in the United States
10Army during World War II; he fought in the invasion of Normandy
11at Utah Beach and served in North Africa and Italy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner attended the University of
13Cincinnati and Washington University; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner served as the President of J.J.
15Wuellner and Son Construction Company; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was a member of St. Ambrose
17Catholic Church in Godfrey; he was also a member of the VFW
18Post 1308, the past president of Southern Illinois Builders
19Association, past president of Riverbend Growth Association, a
20member of the board of directors of Home Savings and Loan, and

1a longtime member and board member of Lockhaven Country Club;
2and
 
3    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner was preceded in death by his
4parents and his brother, Eugene Wuellner; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Frederick Wuellner is survived by his wife, Betty;
6his daughters, Patricia Smith (the late A.J. Smith), Sue (John)
7Wuellner-Derr, and Christine Wuellner; his sons, August
8(Maura) Wuellner, Edward (Jennifer) Wuellner, and Michael
9(Tami) Wuellner; his sister, Lois Wuellner; his brothers,
10Donald (Vera) Wuellner and Thomas (Jane) Wuellner; his
11grandchildren, Julie (Kent) Sauvage, Matthew (Jennifer) Smith,
12Leigh and Mitch Wuellner, Sean (Liz) Holloway, Andrew,
13Alexandra, and Hayley Clark, Nathan and Hannah Wuellner, and
14Joseph and Taylor Wuellner; and his great-grandchildren,
15Kaitlin and Jacob Sauvage and Wil and Jenna Holloway;
16therefore, be it
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
19his family and friends, the passing of Frederick A. Wuellner;
20and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
22presented to the family of Frederick Wuellner as an expression
