SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ivan Seppell of Montgomery, formerly of
4Aurora, who passed away on May 4, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was born on July 12, 1932, in Aurora;
6he married Marilee Feldott on October 16, 1954, at St. Mary's
7Catholic Church; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell served his country as a member of the
9United States Army during the Korean War; he was a graduate of
10Aurora College; and
 
11    WHEREAS, After having been employed by Northern Illinois
12Gas for 32 years, Ivan Seppell and his wife opened Jonlee
13Flowers in 1973; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was a member of Annunciation of The
15Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Aurora and founded the "Light In
16My Life" Luminary program with his wife; he also sat as a proud
17member of the Board of Directors at the Paramount Arts Centre,
18where he was instrumental in the opening of the "Grand
19Gallery"; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell was preceded in death by his parents,

1Allie and Mary; his in-laws, Francis and Mildred; his 2
2brothers-in-law; and his niece, Jody Rossler; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ivan Seppell is survived by his wife, Marilee; his
4daughters, Lynn (Don) Paul, Laura English, and Lisa (Randy)
5Brown; his grandchildren, Ashley and Andrew Brown and Erica and
6Emily Paul; his sisters, Clarine (the late Edwin) Gengler and
7Mildred (the late Leon) Feldott; his many nieces and nephews;
8and his best friend, Bill Becker; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11his family and friends, the passing of Ivan Seppell; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Ivan Seppell as an expression of our
15sympathy.
