SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles F. Bechtold of Godfrey, who
4passed away on April 22, 2012; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born September 16, 1926, in Dow, the son of
6Frank and Mary (Cronin) Bechtold; on October 10, 1959, he
7married the former Helen Marie Justison at St. Ambrose Catholic
8Church; and
 
9    WHEREAS, He served in the United States Army 25th Infantry
10and was a lifetime member of the 25th Infantry 38th Division;
11he was also a member of the VFW Post 1308, a member and past
12president of the Retirees Machinist Union Local 660 Club, and a
13member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He retired from the Brass Mill at the Olin
15Corporation; he was an avid gardener and was friendly,
16well-liked, and never met a stranger; and
 
17    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brothers, Bernard,
18Francis, Elmer, Albert, and Clarence Bechtold; and his sisters,
19Lavina Rue and Dorothy "Dolly" Carlisle; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Charles Bechtold is survived by his wife, Helen;

1his daughter, Dianne M. Gordon (Dave); his son, Eric J.
2Bechtold (Tonya); his grandchildren, Tyler Henry Boren and Seth
3Charles Boren; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be

5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Charles Bechtold; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Charles Bechtold as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
