SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Doris E. Parson of Sandwich, who passed
4away on December 28, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Doris Parson was born on April 8, 1924, in
6Springfield; she was the daughter of Cecel and Esther (Hood)
7Dorworth; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Doris Parson graduated from Lanphier High School
9in Springfield in 1942; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Doris Parson was employed in the dietary
11department at Memorial Hospital in Springfield for 25 years
12until her retirement in 1989; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Doris Parson was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran
14Church in Sandwich; she was also a volunteer at Fox Valley
15Older Adults for 15 years and volunteered at Meals on Wheels
16for 10 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Doris Parson was preceded in death by her parents;
18her son, Master Sergeant Gary Parson, USMC; her sister, Lola
19Stewart; and her brother, C. Edward Dorworth; and

1    WHEREAS, Doris Parson is survived by her daughter, Darlene
2Kay (Milton) Martin; her sons, Wayne (Kathy) Parson and Richard
3(Corinne) Parson; her grandchildren, Melissa Jeffery, Lisa
4(Kenneth) Stephens, Theresa (Jeff) Howell, Regina Coons,
5Tamara (Mike) VanDyke, Captain Peter (Tommye) Nelson, USMC,
6Michael (Laura) Parson, and Stacy (Daniel) Carty; her 21
7great-grandchildren; her 11 great-great-grandchildren; and her
8many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11her family and friends, the passing of Doris E. Parson; and be
12it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Doris Parson as an expression of our
15sympathy.
