2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
Elizabeth Hall of Chicago, who passed |
4 | | away on December 3, 2011; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall was born on August 20, 1930, in |
6 | | Goodwater, Alabama; her parents were Sims and Sarah Williams; |
7 | | and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall attended her early years of |
9 | | elementary school in Goodwater, Alabama before she and her |
10 | | family moved to Chicago in 1941; she subsequently graduated |
11 | | from Dunbar Vocational High School and settled in Chicago for |
12 | | the rest of her life; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall grew up in the Baptist faith and |
14 | | accepted Christ as a young mother; she happily joined Trinity |
15 | | United Church of Christ later in her life; and |
16 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall was employed as a waitress and host |
17 | | in many of Chicago's well known hospitality venues for more |
18 | | than 30 years; she was also a licensed hair stylist; and |
19 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall was a 19-year breast cancer |
20 | | survivor; she was an active participant in numerous breast |

1 | | cancer activities and celebrated each year as National Cancer |
2 | | Survivors' Day marked another year of survival for her; and |
3 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall enjoyed spending time with friends |
4 | | and family, music (especially jazz), and celebrating holidays |
5 | | and other special times with family and friends in her home, |
6 | | which gave her the occasion to showcase her masterful cooking; |
7 | | and |
8 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall was preceded in death by her |
9 | | mother; her sister, Ellabelle Moody; her daughter, Leatrice E. |
10 | | Hall; and her brother, Johnny Williams; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Elizabeth Hall is survived by her husband, |
12 | | Fletcher C. Hall; her sons, Zachary E. Hall (Kendrea) and |
13 | | Fletcher A. Hall; her daughters, Diane Livingston, Sandra Hall, |
14 | | and Yolanda Hall; her sister, Mary Freeman; her sister-in-law, |
15 | | Mildred Williams; her brother-in-law, Odell Moody; her |
16 | | grandchildren, Zena Beach (Kip), Steve A. Hall (Gene'), Cherise |
17 | | Livingston, Fletcher Hall III, Tremayne Hall (Tanya), Cara |
18 | | Hall, Erika Hall, Karen Hall, and Kenneth D. Hall; her great |
19 | | grandchildren, Blake, Zachary, Nicholas, Kendall, Nia, Keaden, |
20 | | Amaya, Isaac, Malia, and Kayla; and her many nieces, nephews, |
