SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gladys A. Griffin of Mascoutah, who
4passed away on August 12, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was born on May 17, 1927, in
6Okawville; her parents were Alvin and Olinda Riechmann; she
7married Russell A. Griffin, Jr. on March 28, 1945, in
8Mascoutah; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was a co-owner of the Griffin
10Construction Company of Mascoutah; she was also a 30-year
11employee at Santini Plaza in Fort Meyers Beach, Florida; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was a member of St. John United
13Church of Christ in Mascoutah; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin was preceded in death by her
15husband; her parents; and her brother, Lester Riechman; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Gladys Griffin is survived by her daughters, Carol
17Griffin-Kolar and her husband, James, and Jeanne Hamann and her
18husband, Kent; her grandchildren, Jennifer Kolar-Burden and
19her husband, Matthew, Christopher Hamann and Taryn Quitmeyer,
20and Matthew Hamann; her great-grandchildren, Samantha Cameron

1and Jack and Gracie Kolar-Burden; her sister-in-law, Betty
2Riechman; her nephew, J. R. Riechman; and her many dear
3friends; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6her family and friends, the passing of Gladys A. Griffin; and
7be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Gladys A. Griffin as an expression
10of our sympathy.
