SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Lee "Richie" Marcum of Joliet,
4who passed away on February 17, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born in Bloomington and lived in Joliet for
660 years; he attended Trinity School and Cornerstone Services;
7and
 
8    WHEREAS, He was a member of Special Recreation of Joliet
9and Channahon; he was a longtime fixture at St. Joe's Boys
10Baseball and St. Joseph Parish Park; he loved bowling, dancing,
11and polka music, and was the winner of several trophies and
12ribbons for the Special Olympics of Illinois and Special
13Recreation of Joliet and Channahon; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his brother, Randy
15Marcum; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Richard Marcum is survived by his parents, Twila
17(nee Florey) and James Marcum; his brothers, Bradley (Kim) and
18Glen (Pat); his sister, Diane (Dave) Zuelke; his sister-in-law,
19Jennianne Marcum; his nieces and nephews, Sarah (Erik)
20Schueler, Erin Marcum, Heather (Chris) Dunlap, Amy (Mike)
21Pepper, Derik Zuelke, Kevin Marcum, Dana (Burke) Schuster,

1Brett (fiancee, Samantha) Marcum, Patrick Marcum, Allison
2(Ben) Gunnink, and Tyler Marcum; his 11 great nieces and
3nephews; his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special
4friends, Kathy Green and Katie Dillon; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
7his family and friends, the passing of Richard Marcum; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Richard Marcum as a symbol of our
11sincere sympathy.
