HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed colleague
4Charles W. "Chuck" Krezwick for his service as a member of the
5Illinois General Assembly and thank him for answering the call
6of his community, his State, and his nation; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick was born in Chicago and
8raised in the south suburbs, where he and his wife, Marilyn,
9raised their two sons; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick was called to duty as a
11member of the U.S. Air Force from 1965 until 1969, and has
12remained involved in veterans' affairs and aviation as a member
13of American Legion Orland Memorial Post 111, the Air Force
14Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the
15Experimental Aircraft Association; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick served his community as a
17Calumet Park village trustee from 1973 until 1977, and as
18acting mayor of Calumet Park from 1979 until 1981; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick helped to make the voice
20of his community heard in the federal government as a
21legislative aide to two U.S. Congressmen; and

1    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick continued his efforts to
2ensure local residents access to government services as
3director of senior services for Calumet Township; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick demonstrated his
5commitment to education by serving his community as a
6substitute teacher; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick answered the call to
8service again in 2012, filling a vacancy in the Illinois House
9of Representatives and ensuring that local constituents
10continued to receive the services and representation they
11deserve; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick passed a law recognizing
13his fellow veterans by creating license plate stickers for
14veterans, the proceeds of which will go to charity; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Representative Krezwick's military service and
16personal enthusiasm for amateur radio instilled in him the
17importance of citizen-operated radio as a means of ensuring
18public health and safety during an emergency; in the Illinois
19House of Representatives, he passed a law that helps to ensure
20the availability of amateur radio; and

1    WHEREAS, All those who have had the opportunity to serve
2alongside Representative Krezwick appreciate his friendship
3and commitment to his community, his State, and his nation;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7we congratulate and thank State Representative Charles W.
8"Chuck" Krezwick for his dedicated service; and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to Representative Krezwick as an expression of our
11respect and esteem, with our best wishes for his future
12success.
