HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the
4Illini Central boys basketball team for their wonderful season;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, After starting the season with a 3-10 record, with
76 straight losses, the Illini Central boys basketball team made
8a complete turnaround, winning 15 of the last 18 games of the
9season; during those games, Illini Central outscored its
10opponents by an average of 16 points; and
 
11    WHEREAS, During the season, the Illini Central boys
12basketball team won the Tomahawk Conference Championship, the
13Illini Central Regional, the Ridgeview Sectional, and the
14Illinois State University Supersectional; the team finished
15the season by winning the 3rd place game at Carver Arena in
16Peoria after losing in the Final Four semifinal game by one
17point; in total, the team went 6-1 during the State Tournament
18Series and outscored its opponents by an average of 13 points
19per game; and
 
20    WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball
21team are Derrick Himmel, Jesse Thompson, Ean Albers, Grant
22Bale, Jordan Bradshaw, Jared Entwistle, Noah Kirby, Connor

1Martin, Duncan McClure, Justin Onken, Zach Harman, Seth Kirby,
2and Dylan List; the team's head coach is John Giesler and the
3assistant coaches are Scott Francis and Tony Wherley; and
 
4    WHEREAS, The members of the Illini Central boys basketball
5team serve as models of hard work, integrity, and dedication
6for the people of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
8NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we congratulate the members of the Illini Central boys
10basketball team for their wonderful season and wish them
11continued success and happiness in the future; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the Illini Central boys basketball team as a
15symbol of our esteem and respect.
