HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Howard
4"Bud" Scott of Fox Lake; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Howard Scott served his country with pride and
6distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps; he
7was extremely proud to have served and continued to support the
8military through his work at the American Legion Post 703; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Howard Scott was a trustee and former president of
10the Lake Villa Fire Protection District Board; he helped
11preside over the construction and 2008 opening of its new
12substation in Lindenhurst; he was a former Lake County Board
13member and a former member and chairman of the Fox Waterway
14Agency Board; in addition, he was a not only a student, but
15also a teacher, principal, and assistant superintendent at
16Grant High School in Fox Lake; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Howard Scott was a highly visible personality in
18his local political circuit; he served as Lake Villa Republican
19precinct committeeman since the 1960s - often times running
20unopposed; he served on the Lake County Board; he was also a
21two-term director of the Fox Lake Chamber of Commerce, a Lake
22Villa Township trustee, and a member of the Lake County

1Planning Commission; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Howard Scott served as a Fox Lake police officer
3and a deputy with the Lake County Sheriff's Office for a time;
4and
 
5    WHEREAS, Howard Scott was preceded in death by his father,
6Howard E. Scott Sr.; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Howard Scott is survived by his wife of 52 years,
8Roberta Lou Scott; his children, Tom Scott, Kathy Scott, and
9Kristina (Michael) Kazlausky; his grandchildren, Sammy and
10Mick Kazlausky and Garrett Woolford; his mother, Cornelia
11Scott; his brother, Dr. Anthony (Judi) Scott; his sister,
12Meredith (John) Martin; his sisters-in-law, Sue (Roger)
13Tapleshay and Barb (Gary) Humphries; and his many nieces and
14nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of
18Howard "Bud" Scott; and be it further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to the family of Howard Scott as an expression of our
21sympathy.
