SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 2310/2310-55.5 new
70 ILCS 3615/3.11 new

    Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois and the Regional Transportation Authority Act. Provides that the Regional Transportation Authority shall monthly provide the Department of Public Health with a list of riders that receive free or reduced fares under the Regional Transportation Authority Act. Provides that the list shall include an individual's name, address, and date of birth. Provides that within 2 weeks after receipt of the list the Department shall report back to the Authority any discrepancies that indicate that a rider receiving free or reduced fare services is deceased and that the Authority, upon receipt of the report from the Department, shall take appropriate steps to remove any deceased individual's name from the list of individuals eligible under the free or reduced fare programs.

1    AN ACT concerning public transportation.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and
5Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is
6amended by adding Section 2310-55.5 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 2310/2310-55.5 new)
8    Sec. 2310-55.5. Free and reduced fare services. The
9Regional Transportation Authority shall monthly provide the
10Department with a list of riders that receive free or reduced
11fares under the Regional Transportation Authority Act. The list
12shall include an individual's name, address, and date of birth.
13The Department shall, within 2 weeks after receipt of the list,
14report back to the Regional Transportation Authority any
15discrepancies that indicate that a rider receiving free or
16reduced fare services is deceased.
 
17    Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
18amended by adding Section 3.11 as follows:

20    Sec. 3.11. Free and reduced fare services. The Authority
